Through Match Grant, RRISA offers alternative to public assistance

Empowering families means giving them the tools to become self-sufficient. Community support of cash and in-kind donations are used to match federal dollars in order to give refugees the greatest opportunities to become self-sufficient. mother and kids

Making the match can take many forms. time, dollars, energy and goods and services are all vital to supporting families as they transition to become self-reliant. Self-sufficiency provides a major source of pride and accomplishment for most clients who have come from unstable and often deplorable living conditions.

With the Match Grant program, RRISA is able to offer an alternative to public assistance to its clients. This program provides financial assistance to employable refugees while promoting early employment.

Thanks to the support of the community, RRISA receives many generous cash and in-kind donations that are then matched by federal dollars in order to give refugees the greatest opportunities to become self-sufficient.

We offer a comprehensive and supportive resettlement experience complete with necessary job preparation and placement assistance including:

cultural adjustment
  • Cash, housing, and utility assistance
  • Vocational English tutoring
  • Interpretation services
  • Transportation assistance
  • Job preparation
  • Dress for Success
  • Interview etiquette
  • Computer training courses
  • Job application and resume assistance
  • Case management

Co-sponsorship of a refugee family is enhanced through the Match Grant Program. Recording all in-kind and financial contributions will allow us to submit for matching funds, thereby leveraging each donation 2 to 1. Your involvement in the Match Grant program helps families reach a higher potential for self-sufficiency.
